Re: Senior Pastor Video Blog 1

I just wanted you to know how much the the series on Religious Diseases helped me. I've felt so confused about myself as a christian for a long time and these messages were immensely clarifiying. Thanks and God bless!

Great blog! Re: Cedar Creek as a cult; my mother who I love dearly and is Catholic shares this misconception. I was so excited to hear about the upcoming class "Questions about Catholicism" Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm really looking forward to getting some insight on how to handle conflicts in my family.
P.S. Way to go Rankin! Awesome!

Re: Senior Pastor Video Blog 1

I, like Wendy, have issues with having been raised in a Catholic family (my husband is also in the same boat). Last weekend's message really spoke to me about how to approach my parents about the Creek.

My mom asked me about Cedar Creek several days ago and I think I may have planted a small seed in her to open her up to trying the Creek but I know I have more work to do. (My parents haven't been to church in a very long time, they used to go to Catholic Church but stopped) For anyone who's reading this, please pray that God presents an opportunity for me to bring the subject up again with my parents.
Thank you!!!

Re: Senior Pastor Video Blog 1

Kudos to our Cedar Creek Pastors for bringing Father Leyland in for the seminar on Catholicism! I was raised in the Catholic Church and it took me about a year to embrace Cedar Creek and let go of the guilt I carried for not attending a Catholic church. I decided to become a member of Cedar Creek and was elated to learn while studying for membership that Cedar Creek was very similar to what I was taught during my Catholic education. My faith in Christ has not changed from what I was taught, what changed is that I now have a wonderful relationship with Christ. I leave the service every Sunday fully understanding the message and putting it into play in my everyday life. My husband is a die hard Polish Catholic altar boy....he planted his feet firm that he wouldn't attend Cedar Creek...no way he said! I invited him gently to attend our "Big Push" 2 years ago....guess who's sure to set the alarm clock now so we don't miss a service? Mmnn, I've even see him tapping the seat to the music. To all my Catholic friends attending Cedar Creek, know that God is doing his work always....having Father Leyland is just the beginning of something great about to happen.

Re: Senior Pastor Video Blog 1

Greetings Shirley, Beth, Wendy and anyone else who has a Catholic connection. I'm am really excited about this seminar coming up. Although not a total expert on Catholocism by any means, I have done tons of research and consulted the experts for this seminar. Retired preist fro St. Rose, Thomas Leyland was gracious to meet with me and answer questions that I and others have about the Catholic faith. I will respond to his answers in the seminar as to what we at the Creek belive and practice. Then we'll have Ricahrd Bennet, a former preist of 20+ years come and tell his story live (10/11) of his spiritual journey and share the main diferences. My hope is many will come with an open mind as we duscuss this topic.
Grace!

That's wonderful that the pastors are bringing Father Leyland to the seminar! My cousins go to St. Rose, they really miss him. Hopefully Father Leyland will develop the understanding of what is not right about Catholicism. Oh and Steve, I had no idea you used to be a priest. Tell me, what made you turn to the non denominational church?

Re: Senior Pastor Video Blog 1

Can we please stop the anti-Catholicism on these blogs? It is really getting tiresome and annoying.

Re: Senior Pastor Video Blog 1

Oh, Richard Bennet is the former priest, that's pretty cool.

Re: Senior Pastor Video Blog 1

A question: Does pastor Lee spend the week in restaraunts alone looking for material? Or is it mere coincidence that everytime he is in a restaraunt sitting by himself he finds more material? Because if this is the case, perhaps he should spend more time there. LOL. I love the messages and his stories add so much, I just think that it is funny how many times God speaks to him while he is eating. God Bless!

Re: Senior Pastor Video Blog 1

Responding to Mike and Jasons input, I would say my feeling is that we are not debating the Catholic faith versus Cedar Creek. Rather, we are discussing how we as Catholics attending CC can move forward in our relationship with Christ and know that hey, it's okay...I can still get to heaven. I can't fathom that our loving, merciful God cares what building we're in, I just choose to attend Cedar Creek. Its the place that serves my needs best.

Re: Senior Pastor Video Blog 1

I agree Dennis. I think that it really doesn't matter what you are, as long as you have accepted Jesus Christ as you savior, then it's cool. I really like Cedar Creek, it really fits my understanding as a new christian. Well, I really am glad I checked out this blog. I probably won't be on it that often for a couple of days, I'm going to Brooklyn to visit my sister Rachel, she just had a baby, his name is Joshua, I haven't seen him yet. I'm so excited! It will be great to see my sister and her baby, but I haven't been back to New York in well over two years, it's great here in Toledo, but New York is my home. Maybe I'll be able to bring Rachel to Christ, she's catholic, I'll have to show her this website:)
