Re: Senior Pastor Video Blog 2
Pastor , you are hilarious, good sense of humor. I am guilty of not wanting to come to Cedar Creek because the church had cupholders. I was brought up with a Catholic background and could not believe a church would have cupholders. Well, that doesn't matter anymore compared to the awesome teaching , music , loving, caring and compassionate staff and people and all the ministries and ministry opportunities. I am sorry for misjudging the church , I am forgiven and now I enjoy using the cupholder. My husband and I have invited couples and their families and a couple of singles to church for the Big Push and here are the names and I appreciate you praying for them to come. John, Judy, Jodi, Robin, Dave and their children, Ron, Cheryl and their children, Rick, Mary, Lori, Patrick, Helen and children, Dave, Penny and children, Andy, Kim and children, Tim, Jennifer and children, Glen, Ellie and children, John, Sherry, Larry, Leila , Terry, Chris, Sue. We are not done inviting, so please pray for us. Thank You for the Postcards, that really helped and postage was paid too. We are praying for you too and all involved to get this ready. God Bless you.

Re: Senior Pastor Video Blog 2
Thank You Pastor Steve, I feel funny calling you Hooty, anyway I have been out of the Catholic church for 20 years now and I am a born again believer in Jesus Christ . I still have family that are saved but still go to the Catholic church and have questions or their loyalty is there. And then I have some family that aren't saved and still go to the Catholic church. God loves us all and wants us to know the truth and the truth will set us free and that none shall perish but have eternal life in Jesus. Its so simple, like someone giving me a free gift and I can choose to accept it or reject it. Man adds in all the traditions and then it complicates what is meant to be so simple, a relationship with Him. I will consider the class so I can help others to see the truth . Thanks, and God Bless you.

Re: Senior Pastor Video Blog 2
I have invited one unchurched coworker who's name is Steve. I have also invited a female coworker who I haven't the faintest clue regarding her spiritual background. My inviting her was absolutely going out on a limb and I would appreciate your prayers for Lynne. This is the no-nonsense first time I have ever blogged and I just want to say Cedar Creek's use of the myriad multi-media avenues available to reach people is an absolute blessing. Thanks so much for the work you are doing...

Re: Senior Pastor Video Blog 2
I have invited others to the Creek and they love it, my question is simple how do you help keep them going? This person believes that everything that he is trying to do is being judged so severly that GOD is punishing him for past flaws, while he is trying to change to be a Good Christian. He really is struggling. I told him God is love and forgiveness not spiteful. What do you think? Thanks so much for allowing me to be a good christian and spread the news to others in spiritual need. Without being judged and looked at a a bad person because of having children and a divorce. God Bless You!

Re: Senior Pastor Video Blog 2
What are your thoughts about just handing out programs/invitation cards to people who you might not have a talking relationship with? Such as people that are pumping gas while your at the gas station. Could this be effective at all? Or is this being too pushy? Because there's times when I want to give someone an invitation card but I'm not able to talk to them at the time.

Re: Senior Pastor Video Blog 2
I have a question about the class on Catholicism. I am interested in it and would like to attend and learn more. I heard Father Leyland was the guest speaker. Is he the former pastor of St. Rose who retired this year? How will the class be conducted? Will he give his perspective and then Hooty share his view of things?

Re: Senior Pastor Video Blog 2
Hi Jason. I did interview Thomas Leyland who has retired from St. Rose. By the way, he is a very nice man and I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation. I will show exerpts from the interview video and then respond with how we at CedarCreek may differ. This seminar will be conducted in a spirit of love and respect for Catholics. I will talk about the differences in beliefs and pracitces between us. I'll also have a former Catholic priest (for over 20 years) who is an author and now traveles the world telling his story about his experiences and discovery in Christ. He's an expert to say theleast. He'll behere live the 2nd week, October 11. The 3rd week I'll have a panel of CerdarCreeker's who were Catholic and they'll talk about the transition out of the church to CedarCreek and how they have delt with family issues that resulted. Both the 2nd and 3rd week there may be a time for some Q @ A. Invite your firends! Hooty (steve)

Re: Senior Pastor Video Blog 2
I've invited my mom. I go to Cedar Creek always with my dad, I'm only thirteen so I can't really go when I'm with my mom unless my dad comes and picks me up or if my mom will take me. My mom has gone once before, she liked it but I don't know how much, because she hasn't gone again. You see, my mom was raised catholic, and around the age of 22, converted to pentecostal when she met my dad, who basically has the same story. So I grew up going to Faith Tabernacle Church of God, maybe you've heard of it, very old time pentecostal pastor, Pastor Jerry Siler. The church is very spirit filled, many people being slain in the spirit, if you know what that is, and I think my mom has a hard time going to a church that isn't spirit filled, and I know Cedar Creek doesn't stand against it, but my mom just doesn't want to go to a church that isn't spirit filled, but what really upsets me that is my old church, Faith Tabernacle, has really died down, many people have left, because of the judgment that has taken place in the church, so my mom doesn't want to go there anymore. My mom is a good Christian woman and I love her with all my heart, and I would love more than anything if she would come worship with me at Cedar Creek, it's not the same at church without both your parents there with you, (my parents are now divorced), this weekend it's my mom weekend and I've been begging her to come with me, pastor, please pray that my mother, Aimee, will come to church this week. I would be so grateful.

kelly, i've read your threads in the various blogs and you seem like an amazing young lady. I will pray with all my heart that your mom will come to church this week and that the Lord will wrap His loving arms around her in a way that she can't deny. She is lucky to have a daughter like you!

Re: Senior Pastor Video Blog 2
Okay, I'm struggling with an issue that I bet a LOT of people at the Creek can relate to and I could really use some advice...I know that I'm saved and feel I have a very close relationship with Jesus, however, I am not married and am sexually involved with someone I'm crazy about. And I know this is going to sound terrible, but I'm just not willing to give this up. I know this isn't the IDEAL situation and that I'm probably interferring with God's perfect will for my life, but that just isn't enough of a motivation for me to make any changes. My question is this, what is the motivation for a believer to eliminate the sin in their life that feels "victimless" and brings so much enjoyment? Are there actually eternal consequences? Isn't it true we're not going to be judged in Heaven? Thanks for your input, everyone!

Re: Senior Pastor Video Blog 2
Thanks for praying that my mom would come this weekend Hiphopanonymous, but unfortunetely she didn't come. She got real close to going but backed out at last minute. I prayed real hard, but maybe my idea of what was supposed to happen isn't God's plan. Who knows. But thanks a lot for praying, I will continue to pray. So, who did go to church this weekend? What was it about? I had to miss it because my mom didn't want to go. I can't watch it online either because my computer is too slow.

Re: Senior Pastor Video Blog 2
I would like to request prayer for my aunt and uncle, they are both atheists and no matter how hard we try to bring them to God, by explaining to them our faith, or just through testimony, they still won't believe. What should I say to them? It's so sad to see someone reject God's love. My uncle tells me to just give up because he's not going to change his mind, but I won't, because of the scripture "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Philippians 4:13 I won't give up, so please pray for them, and please someone, give me advice, how can I bring them to Christ? (That rhymes:)

Re: Senior Pastor Video Blog 2
I've invited my dad, Simon. He really doesn't want to come though, he grew up baptist and although he probably hasn't been to church since 1999, he says that he will never change from baptist. He's heard some terrible rumors about the Creek. I try to tell him that's not true but he won't buy it. My dad is 71 years old, he's real stubborn.
