Hi everyone. It's been awhile since I blogged so I thought I would update those of you who are curious as to what the future holds in store for our WH location.

We've been meeting at Anthony Wayne High School since Easter 06. Hard to believe we're coming up to our 2 year anniverssary. It has been a true blessing from God having our 2nd CedarCreek location meeting out here. But the question keeps coming up, "When are we going to get our own permanent place to call home?"

Most of you know that part of our 2-year  "Beyond Our Walls" (BOW) campaign that we kicked off the end of 2006 includes purchasing land to build our own facility someday. We have had a deposit on 10 acres in what's known as the "Whitehouse Square" which is on Rt. 64 just north of Finzel accross from the canery.

Recently, we have been in weekly contact with the devolper about the possibilty of building a facility sooner than excpected and still controlling our cash flow by leasing it initially from them and then buying it out a few years later. We're already paying a good chunk of change to AWHS so it might make sense. The money that comes in for BOW for the land could then be used to furnish out the auditorum and kids classrooms.

We're hoping to know what we're going to do with this proposal in the next serveral weeks. This is a huge prayer request to say the least.

I caution those of you earger beavers who have been hopeing and waiting for our own place to be careful not to spread rumors that this is all going to come to pass. It's on the table and so far, we like the idea but still there's lot's to discuss and work out.

More updates as I get them. By the way, if you're reading this and have not visited us, stop by and check us out at AWHS and be sure to introduce yourself to me.

Here's an update as to the Sunday service message coming to the Whitehouse campus via live video stream- It's not going to happen, at least for now.

I met with the superintendent and the technical staff person of AWHS and there are security and filtering issues that must meet compliance with the State of Ohio. Since I'm not a techy kind of guy, let me just say I felt the school really wanted to help us get the connection needed to show the live video real time, but their hands were tied. So with that, we are continuing with the recorded version of Saturday night from PB and will continue with our current service times of 9:30 and 11:15. Hooty

In a few weeks, I'll be travelling to Honduras to speak at the Great Commission Latin America Easter Conference. My topic is "Leaving a Legacy". The theme comes from 2 Timothy 2:2- "You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others."  (The Apostle Paul to his younger mentor, Timothy)

When I think of leaving a legacy, I think of not just people remembering certain things about a person, but of those memories inspiring people to continue the journey. As a father, I had/have a narrow window of opportunity to pass on to my 4 children the important things in life as far as God's overall purpose for saving us is concerned. This in no way means that they are to adopt and pursue my giftedness, methods or passions for specific ministries. But I feel it does mean that I not only teach the foundational things concerning God's will, which is universal to all believers, and also demonstrate it by my actions as an example. My dream is that they utilize their own God-given giftedness and strenghts to continue to fulfill God's purposes. This is what I live for- to pass on to others the things God has taught me through my mentors about living a life fully devoted to Him. I believe it's imperative for every Christ follower to practice 2 Tim. 2:2. If you think differently and have biblical support shoot it my way.

So here's a question- what do you think it means to leave a legacy? Do you have any cool modern day examples of this? By the way, leaving a legacy is not only a spiritual/biblical issue. I had the priviledge of performing a funeral service last year for a Columbian born doctor who influenced the medical world and left a legacy that I know many will continue to live out through his example and passion.
