Blog People,

Just want to say hello...and see if you guys have any interest in blogging about stuff.  The arts, the world, Jesus, golf (what?).  I would love to.  I once heard a speaker say, regarding the sport of golf:  "If I have time to play golf...I'm not busy enough".  I actually like and have great respect for the game...that's why I don't play.  LOL.

Anyway, let's crack the ice, let's talk about whatever you want.  What's on your mind?  Comments anyone?

Re: Hello out there!

Hi Jay, Ok...Lets talk volunteers! Gary and I are no longer going to be pulling the trailer for Wee Venture/Kid Venture. When we first started the portable church, we found it worked for us to unload the trailers ourselves. But now things are changing and it would be much nicer to have teams available to do this. Unloading goes very quickly with 4 or 5 people. Any more then that and your really tripping over each other. The trailer is unloaded in about 20 minuets. Then we set up walls. We are done in less then an hour. We have others who come in and set up the rooms for the toys, so really our need is unloading and then for tear down as well. That is really quite simple if I could get teams together for this, it really would only require 10 to 15 minuets of each persons time, if that and your done. I would have a task for each person to do which is to carry something to the end of the hallway and left that will be loaded when ready by another team onto the trailer. So, if we can get some people who would be willing to commit, and oh did I mention you will have the summer off if the school allows it again, so this would be spring, fall and winter and God willing we will be building before long. So come on people, can we do this together. My e-mail is please feel free to ask me any questions with no strings attatched. How about some Home Groups! Ours has been there now for a month in the AM. Pray about it please. Your sister in Christ Renee Ritchie, Thanks Jay for the Ice breaker. lol

Re: Hello out there!

Hi there Jay! Can we talk Volunteer need? I would like the opportunity to use this Ice Breaker you started to seek out teams of people who are willing to commit to serve on our "Set Up" and "Tear Down" crew. If we can get the right number of people (who are not already serving) I can promise you , that weather it be Set up or Tear down, you will not put in more the 30 min, and most will have less depending on how many are willing to commit. I will be sending out another blog with the details of what goes on "Behind the Scenes" of our Whitehouse Campus church home set up crew. Feel free please to blog me with questions or e-mail me personally at and I would be happy to talk to you. Your sister in Christ, Renee Ritchie PS, Did I mention we get the summer of from Set up/Tear down. =)

Re: Hello out there!

Hey Renee,
Wow, thanks for your faithful service. You & Gary have been awesome! I appreciate your thought on this portable church stuff..sounds like a good plan. It is good to emphasize how each persons contribution makes a big difference in the grand scheme of things. We are all dependent upon one another in so many ways.

The right size team, trained and available makes the work go easy and enjoyable. Let's continue to make friends, reach out and ask for others to get involved in serving. Good work. Thanks for the comments! Jay

Re: Hello out there!

Hey, Renee! Did I read your blog right? Volunteer positions where you put in less than 30 mins and have the summer off?? What a perfect opportunity to serve & yet not feel overly committed. I wish we could make people that might not be reading the blogs aware of this - I'll bet we'd have plenty of takers! Jenny Carter

Re: Hello out there!

Nice one, Jenny! If the rest of you want to join the fun, now is a good time to help out. We're about to enter a very busy season with Easter coming and the "Big Push" to follow. We could really use you in multi-media, hospitality, childrens, etc. Now if you're reading and don't know what a Big Push is, let me know and I'll explain it.
By the way, check out my blog at WH. I'm curious how many people have read/thought about the whole "leaving a legacy" deal. Hooty
